Solar Powered Christmas Light | Separate

Solar powered Christmas light products can, depending on their design, come with the solar panel in a more or less separate structure from the actual light bulbs. This is done for practical considerations. The usual solar light structure is different. The usual device comes with all the parts located in one housing. That is, you will be able to find the light bulbs, the internal battery and the solar panel in one structure. Now, this type of a setup usually works alright for other kinds of solar lights. After all, it can be very convenient to not have to worry about separate parts and the wiring which connects these. This type of setup can also work for those Christmas lights where the design of the device is such that the light bulbs are located on something which is also large enough to house the solar panel. So that for example, if the particular solar Christmas light has a fairly decently sized part, such as some form of Christmas decoration, then it may be possible to have the light bulbs, internal battery and solar panel, all located in one more or less centralized housing. That said, this type of situation doesn’t exist for many kinds of Christmas lighting.

So for instance, with respect to a very common form of solar powered Christmas light product, namely string lighting, it is not at all possible to house the solar panel in the same structure as the other lights. In fact, with string lighting, there really isn’t any central housing to speak of. Unlike other kinds of solar lighting, string lighting is basically made up of one central strand or strands of wiring, to which are attached at regular intervals, the light bulbs which give off the illumination. There’s no place at all which can contain the solar panel, so there is the need to somehow have the solar panel separate from the light bulbs, and connected to them through some means. So that is the usual form factor for solar string lights. There is the central wiring, to which the light bulbs are attached, and there is a cord which runs from these all the way to another small structure which contains both the solar panel and the internal battery. That structure can then usually be driven into the ground in order to allow it to be supported and made stable, or it can be hung from a tree or some other home fixture. So for solar powered Christmas light devices, which come in string form, there really is a need to have a separate structure for the solar panel.
